Sock It to Me: Basic Sock on Your Circular Sock Machine with Amelia Garripoli
About Sock It to Me: Basic Sock on Your Circular Sock Machine with Amelia Garripoli
Ready to crank out socks but not sure where to start? In this hands-on class, you’ll master the hung hem, and tackle no-drop short-row heels and toes. With step-by-step guidance, troubleshooting tips, and plenty of practice, you’ll gain the skills and confidence to keep cranking at home. Bring your CSM, and let’s make some cozy socks—one row at a time!
Supplies, Equipment & Materials Needed for Class
• Circular sock machine in working order
• Cylinder suitable for your yarn - typically 60, 64, or 72 slot cylinders are best with sock yarns.
• Your accessories: weights, heel hooks, latch hook tool (a spare needle will do the job), needle lifter (old credit card can stand in), oil.
• Needles, floor mat, and supporting tools.
• 4 ounces of sock yarn for the socks.
• Waste yarn (best if it’s obviously different from the sock yarn);
• Setup bonnet (contact Amelia prior to the workshop if you have a different starting method).
