Hi, and welcome to my teaching profile :) Main subjects and instruments include electric guitar, bass guitar, acoustic guitar, ukulele, cajon, drumkit, music theory, improvisation, percussion, aural skills (ear training), eurythmics (internalizing rhythm), sight-reading, classical guitar and flamenco guitar. Lessons are fun, engaging, and educational.

For over 33 years as a musician and 29 years as an educator for all grade levels and teachers alike, I have the experience of learning from my previous students and applying more efficient techniques to current and future ones. Much like my students, I work towards learning the most innovative techniques while foreseeing the trends of the future in music and education.

Marshal Herridge is a Vancouver-born jazz bassist currently residing in New York, New York. I fell in love with music at a young age and have pursued it for most of my life. After starting piano at 8 and performing Acoustic Guitar at Irish Pubs by 14, I earned a Bachelor of Music: Commercial Music with a focus on Classical Voice and Classical Piano from Florida Atlantic University.

I’m a Los Angeles–based musician and teacher with a strong background in jazz, contemporary music, songwriting, and multi-instrumental studies. I attended the USC Thornton School of Music as a Jazz Studies drumset major, and also studied piano, guitar, music theory, and composition.

What started as a childhood fascination with the guitar grew into a lifelong pursuit of music. I picked up the bass in middle school and high school, but it wasn't until I found myself living in New York City that I began seriously studying and performing on the instrument — diving deep into jazz, blues, and funk and never looking back.
