Nuno Felt Art Vest with Patti Barker

About Nuno Felt Art Vest with Patti Barker

An Art Vest is the perfect transition for people who enjoy making scarves and shawls and desire to make garments. It is created flat, so you learn tips on just the right placement of sleeves and a few other things to make it wearable. As the name states, anything goes in design work. Participants should be able to stand for long periods of time.

Materials, Equipment, and Supplies the Student Must Bring to Class

A rubber rug mat (5'x 8'), pool noodle, a watering mechanism (suggest a one gallon garden sprayer, or a ball brause & bucket), SHARP full-size scissors, eight table risers (to save your back), at least two old bath towels you don't mind staining, and a plastic bag to take home wet items. Wear comfortable shoes.

Patti Barker

Early fascination with fabric and fashion came from Patti Barker’s seamstress mother. You might say fiber art is bound into her DNA. Patti’s felting journey began in 2007 with a study of felted simulated skins. All the while, she was intrigued with the way wearable art transforms its wearer.
Patti is an award-winning felt wear designer, teacher and author. She earned a BA degree in Studio Art with a concentration in fiber at Western Washington University. Patti lives at a sprawling farm house in North Central Florida with her husband, Rex and two fine pups.
