About Watercolor: The Color Purple in in Nature
Explore the art of mixing and painting with one of nature's most varied and complex colors, purple. In this spring-themed class, students will learn how to navigate the challenges of working with purple through guided color studies and matching exercises, using a variety of flowers and plants as inspiration. We'll then create detailed watercolor renderings.
Your instructor will provide thorough demonstrations and offer individualized guidance, answering questions and sharing techniques throughout the session. While some reference images will be provided, students are encouraged to find their own sources of inspiration, whether through still life arrangements or photographs.

Allison Maletz
Allison Maletz is a contemporary large-scale watercolor and mixed media artist. She received her BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design and her MFA from the Slade School of Fine Art, London. She has taught people from age 8-80 and currently leads watercolor, drawing, illustration and professional practices for artists classes.
