Hey, guys!
Today we worked on the "chuck" strum pattern to go along with "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" and the chords that go along with Boulevard of Broken Dreams.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!

All the best,

Ruthanne L. Neveu

Hello, everyone! Today, we touched on 3 different topics in our ukulele class.

1) the 3/4 strum pattern (with optional fan strum), and we will use Amazing Grace as our practice song (on page 4 of the "50 Songs You Should Play" book)

2) Splitting the Island strum pattern between two chords, and we will use Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head as our practice song (on page 92 of the same book). I am attaching the written strum pattern for a visual of the split in the measure for this song. I will upload a video demonstration of the split strum pattern later on this week.

3) A request to review reading music notes on the ukulele! We will be using the Essential Elements for Ukulele book in the next class to help us with this.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week! Let me know if you have any questions or need help with any of the above topics.

All the best,

Ruthanne L.

Attached are three of the recent songs in multi-page PDF format, which is hopefully helpful for printing.

Hey, class!

Today was another review on fan strumming and strum-splitting, and we added a new song to the list: What A Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong! I am attaching the first page of the song to this post.

If you don't already have the book we're learning from, here is the amazon link to it: https://www.amazon.com/First-Songs-Should-Play-Ukulele/dp/1495031128/ref=sr_1_3?crid=XMNT8FEB5P8Y&dchild=1&keywords=first+50+songs+you+should+play+on+ukulele&qid=1632592258&sprefix=first+50+songs%2Caps%2C184&sr=8-3

I also wanted to share with you a useful chord book I used a lot when I was learning the ukulele: https://www.amazon.com/Ukulele-Chord-Dictionary-Handy-Alfred/dp/0882842080/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=ukulele+chord+dictionary&qid=1632589592&sr=8-3

Let me know if you have any questions!

All the best,

Ruthanne L.
