Hi everyone! As a voice teacher, I always am looking to learn more about what students are hoping to pick up while taking their lessons. I've found that almost everyone I've worked with has been able to identify a "dream song", and I was hoping to hear more about yours!
Do you have a song that you...
-Sung successfully in the past, but now struggle with pitch, intonation, or general comfort?
-Have always wanted to sing, but felt that an element or two were holding you back?
-Listened to something that felt like you couldn't sing it because it was in a style that you have never tried singing in before?
If so, what was the name of this song, and what prevented you from exploring it (either in lessons or for fun)?

Hi there, I have had a few experiences where I have either randomly decided to sing a song that is not what I usually sing and felt like I was vocally able to sing it, however due to us hearing our voice from the inside... I am not sure how I sounded on the outside haha! You have a lot of interesting questions and this is a fun topic! I am also curious as to what students want to pick up in lessons! I have just started on this platform not too long ago and so far haven't gotten any students as of yet!
I do have a dream song that I have been wanting to be able to sing well! I have tried it a few times! But never really took enough time to actually learn and practice the song! The song of course has to be from the movie "The Greatest Showman" and it has to be "Never Enough" it is such a beautiful song and I know I can comfortably sing it but due to it being a slightly tricky and big song I am a bit pitch shy! But funny story about 1 week and a half ago I did attempt to sing it again and funny enough I sang it better than I ever had! All I did was change how I pronounced certain words and vowels!
Singing is such a beautiful thing and so much fun to do especially the journey of figuring songs out and seeing which ones we are and aren't able to sing! We need to look at that as a positive thing as I am sure some students find that disheartening but we just let them know that their voice is beautiful and unique, they can still have a bright singing future!
