Hi all,
I wanted to create this thread as a place to share our practice accomplishments and musical goals we are striving towards, as well as ask any questions you might be having with the material. I'll kick things off!
Our work of on rhythm changes has motivated me to continue working in all 12 keys in my practice session this week, and spend more time learning bass lines. What goals has this class motivated you to work on or inspire in your playing?
Best,
Ana

Hi everyone!
This week’s class really pushed me to refine my sound and consistency across all the woodwinds I teach and play. Working through the rhythm changes together inspired me to focus on long-tone control and intonation stability, especially when switching between saxophone, clarinet, and flute.
I also set a new short-term goal for myself: practicing ii–V–I patterns in all 12 keys slowly and cleanly, making sure every note feels intentional rather than rushed. It’s already helping my phrasing feel more relaxed and confident.
I’d love to hear what everyone else is working on — it’s always motivating to see how each person takes something different away from the same material! 🎶✨
