PROFILE Dhananjay Mishra hails from an illustrious musical family going back seven generations. He started training in Tabla under the guidance of his father, Pandit Ishwar Lal Mishra at the tender age of six. He also trained under Pandit Chhote Lal Mishra.

These lessons are designed to help you develop stronger time, deeper feel, and real confidence behind the drum set. The focus isn’t on flashy chops or isolated exercises — it’s on becoming more musical, more natural, and more comfortable in real playing situations.

I have been teaching piano, strings, and band instruments (flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone, bassoon, trumpet, trombone, and drums) for more than 30 years in the public schools as well as privately. I have instructed large groups and ensembles, as well as smaller musical groups in and out of the public schools.

I have been fortunate to study with some of the best drummers around, including Jeff Ballard, Kendrick Scott, Dave Dicenso, John Ramsay, John Yarling, and more. I have also performed in several countries with my band and other projects. Countries include the US, Switzerland, England, France, Italy, India, and also Puerto Rico (part of the US, but still).

Danny holds over 40 years of playing experience including 25 years as a private instructor. Danny began playing drums at the age of 12 and began playing professionally at age 18. In 1989, Danny journeyed to New York City completing the certificate program at the Drummers Collective School of Music with primary focus of study in Latin Rhythms for the drum set and Studio drumming.

I have been teaching music for over twelve years, and love teaching as much as music itself.
