Phoenix, Wool Embroidery

Phoenix, Wool Embroidery with Laura Berlage

This project looks ready to flutter off the fabric! Learn to use a delightful range of decorative stitches to bring this image of a phoenix to life, working both solid and variegated colors of wool yarn. Laura will be giving special attention to shading techniques, and we’ll finish it off with a glass bead for the eye. Learn to use a plain fabric beneath the pretty damask to help keep stitches secured. Learn and practice some more unusual stitches, like closed fly stitch, raised stem stitch, and the bouillon knot. This class is designed for stitchers with previous experience.
