Wriley Shawl with Cecelia Campochiaro

About Wriley Shawl with Cecelia Campochiaro

Wriley is a reversible cabled shawl where the cables are set on
a checkerboard ground. Cables on a checkerboard look different than cables on
ribbing and create an interesting sense of waves on the checkerboard. The shawl
looks the same on both sides and is a beautiful, drapey fabric. Each student will receive the pattern as part of the class and will make a small swatch of the pattern. Wriley can be with approximately 1300 yds in any sport-weight yarn. The sample is worked in Ito Kinu (3 cones) held with Ito Sensai (5 balls) in matching colors with US4 (3.5 mm) needles.

Cecelia Campochiaro

Cecelia Campochiaro appeared on the knitting scene in 2015 with her debut book, Sequence Knitting. Knitting was a casual pastime until she had an ah-ha moment in 2010 and realized that interesting textured fabrics could be created by the simple repetition of a sequence of stitches. In the years since Sequence Knitting debuted, she has continued to develop new ideas in knitting. Sequence Knitting is about texture, and her second book, Making Marls, is about color. Her latest book, Reversible Knitting, also about texture, came out in the spring of 2025.
