Rachel Snack is a weaver, educator, and textile artist based in Philadelphia. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fiber & Material Studies from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and her Master of Science in Textile Design from Philadelphia University.

Beth began weaving in 1970. She is a student of Norman Kennedy, has had two extensive stays in Japan to study folk textiles, and holds an MFA in textiles from Georgia State University. A Folk School instructor since 1983, Beth currently lives in western North Carolina, where she weaves and teaches. She completed yoga teacher training through Asheville Yoga Center in 2011.

Patrice George was an Associate Professor in Textile Development and Marketing at the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC. Her specialties are dobby and jacquard wovens, computer-aided design, and textile history. Joan Sheridan is a weaver, knitter, spinner, fiber explorer, and owner of Heritage Spinning and Weaving in Lake Orion, Michigan since 2000. She confesses that every room in her house holds fiber tools and projects, and “bored” is absolutely not in her vocabulary. Joan has taught and presented at conferences, festivals, for guilds and shops, and on tour in Norway.

Sarah Schira is known for #NeverNotGnoming but when she’s not knitting gnomes, she’s designing knitting patterns for everyday adventures. She loves to design accessories that look harder than they are, and that make you look great. She and her husband live in Manitoba, Canada, where they’ve raised their two kids to adulthood.

Melanie Bailey Cox is a spinner and weaver with a passion for textile arts. Melanie is a member of the Burlington Handweavers and Spinning Guild and through the guild she became exposed to and involved with handweaving and hand spinning. With her engineering background she has always had a love for processes and enjoys understanding how to make things.

Nam Joti Kaur Khalsa, who learned this traditional American broom making technique from her teacher, Karen Hobbs. Karen Hobbs was a long time student of John Campbell Folk School who instilled her love of basket weaving and broom making in dozens of students across the country.

Sara Bixler is the owner and resident instructor of Red Stone Glen Fiber Arts Center in York Haven, Pennsylvania. Her love of travel and different cultures inspire her work and the curriculum offered at Red Stone Glen, set on an idyllic 50-acre property in south central Pennsylvania.
