Deborah Robertson has no doubt that she stems from a lengthy line of spinners, weavers, seamstresses, embroiderers, and embellishers all the way back to prehistory. The daughter of a YWCA Camp Director, she was most often found in the Arts and Crafts cabin.

TahNibaa Naataanii is a traditional Diné woman, representing the Many Hogan Clan and Coyote Pass Clan. She hails from Table Mesa and Toadlena, New Mexico. TahNibaa was introduced to Navajo weaving by her mother, Sarah H. Natani at 7 years old. She learned to weave stripes first, then advanced to complex patterns.

Liz Spear brings nearly five decades of experience to this series. As a master weaver, wet-felter, and designer, she crafts over 80 unique garments annually for craft fairs, galleries, and conferences. Bex grew up in her mother’s (Carol Leigh Brack-Kaiser) Hillcreek Fiber Studio. She started to learn weaving and dying at a young age and has traveled the country for over 40 years with the family business vending and teaching at fiber, weaving and knitting Shows.

Geri creates mixed media art from her studio in Tennessee, teaches internationally, and her winning art is in museum collections. She was awarded an Appalachian Craft and Culture Fellowship at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts and has taught at John Campbell Folk School for 19 years.

Michelle Boyd is a Master Spinner, weaver, and writer who lives in Olds, Alberta, which is located in the Treaty Seven region of Canada. She has been teaching spinning for twenty years, including twelve years as an instructor for the Olds College Master Spinner Program.
