I have been teaching for over 40 years locally at the Mississippi Craft Center operated by the Mississippi Craftsmen's Guild, of which I am a fellow. I have also taught for guilds, and conferences, especially Convergences almost all of them since the 90s. In 2016 the Craftsmen's Guild of Mississippi awarded me a Lifetime Achievement Award for my teaching.

Joan Sheridan is a weaver, knitter, spinner, fiber explorer, and owner of Heritage Spinning and Weaving in Lake Orion, Michigan since 2000. She confesses that every room in her house holds fiber tools and projects, and “bored” is absolutely not in her vocabulary. Joan has taught and presented at conferences, festivals, for guilds and shops, and on tour in Norway.

Early fascination with fabric and fashion came from my seamstress mother. You might say fiber art is bound into my DNA. My felting journey began with a study of skin. Skin as a protective covering, and as identifier, and how it can record history. A study of animal skin, and human skin; leading to hybrids. All the while, intrigued with the way wearable art transforms its wearer.

Liza Q. Wirtz, better known as Q (aka the Chief Feline), runs multifaceted fiber-arts business The Foldout Cat from her home studio in Alabama with the frequent and welcome assistance of partners Fiber J and Maker J and the help of a fluctuating number of cats.

Dia Robinson is the owner of Twisted Urban Fiber Arts, an accomplished indie dyer, spinner, crocheter, and weaver. She has taught at the Greenville Center of Creative Arts in Greenville, South Carolina, and has organized two fiber art gallery showcases at Greenville Technical College’s Benson Campus Art Gallery in Greenville, South Carolina.

Peyton Waggener is a passionate fiber artist who loves the textures and colors she works with – feeling silk slip through her fingers as she spins, felting wools, and weaving cotton. It’s all magic! She is continuously honing her skills and enjoys teaching various textile techniques, including knitting, needlepoint, cross stitch, spinning, dyeing, Kumihimo braiding, and sewing.

Martha Owen is an artisan/shepherd and resident artist at the John C Campbell Folkschool (www.folkschool.org) in Brasstown, NC. She oversees classes in spinning/knitting,crochet/feltmaking /surface design and dyeing. Her adventure in spinning began here in 1978.

Meagan Condon is a librarian and fiber artist with more than 10 years of teaching experience. Her areas of focus are microscopy of fiber, breed studies, plant fibers, natural dyes, digital community, and the science behind textiles. She has been published in PLY Magazine, Spin-Off Magazine, and The Wheel.

Meg Evatt started knitting when she was 17 years old. She checked a book out of the library and taught herself through trial and error. After retiring, she has studied and honed her knitting skills and knowledge.
