I have loved music my entire life. Some of my earliest memories are of playing on my mom's piano. I started singing in choir when I was 5, started piano when I was 7 and started French Horn at 12. I haven't ever stopped. I became a music teacher and since 2005 have taught middle school band, general music and ukulele full time.

I started playing the trombone 40 years ago, obtained my Bachelor of Music in Trombone Performance from the Peabody Conservatory, and got my Postgraduate Diploma in Trombone Performance from the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, England. My experience as a professional player spanned several genres and ensembles, from orchestras to party bands to Renaissance music.

Alison has taught over 20,000 lessons in various instruments and voice to over 550 students in private lessons and small groups, in person and online. Her students range from age 3 through adults. Angela received her Bachelor's degree in Education and a Master's in Performance from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She was awarded the Chancellor's Talent Award scholarship as an undergraduate. Applied horn studies with Laura Klock and Jazz Horn with John Clark. As a freelance musician, Angela enjoys performing chamber music, shows, big band, rock and blues.

As a Middle School Band director for 30 years, I learned how to get the best out of students. So many students learn poor habits that prevent them from enjoying the instrument. I am skilled at diagnosing the physical issues, but also very attuned to the social and emotional needs of students. I believe being a musician greatly enhances the enjoyment of life!
