Hi there, thanks for stopping by! My name is Drew-Martin Youmans, and I am a 28 year old professional violinist working in the NYC area but living in the historic Hudson Valley. I currently split my time 50/50 between an exciting orchestral career and teaching, and I decided to give online lessons a try for the new year.

I am a professionally trained violinist with a classical foundation and deep experience in improvisation, world music, and contemporary styles. I studied in England at Dartington College of Arts and completed postgraduate jazz studies at the Guildhall School of Music in London.

I began playing the violin at the age of 11. My first violin instruction was in Reno, Nevada with Valerie Nelson of the Reno Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra. Since the late 90's, I have played in over a dozen symphony orchestras, soloing with the Orchestra of Southern Utah, the Southwest Symphony, and the Symphony of the Canyons.
