Christa Schoenbrodt Artist Talk
About Christa Schoenbrodt Artist Talk
Christa Schoenbrodt is both a designer and artist who explores how craft and design can serve as powerful forms of personal expression. She is drawn to the storytelling inherent in handmade work—pieces “made by a human”—which offer a sense of beauty and connection that contrasts with mass-produced objects.
Although she works across multiple mediums, textiles entered her practice about a decade ago, building on a lifelong familiarity with printmaking. She is especially drawn to the artistry and rhythm of block printing, embracing its slow, meditative process and the balance between repetition and technical skill. Through carving and printing her own relief blocks, Christa creates distinctive handmade fabrics and enjoys sharing this creative process with others through workshops.
