What drew you to learning French?

I’m a native French speaker. I love languages and I love to share tricks to make learning French an enjoyable experience.

Why do you think it is popular?

French is a popular language to learn for a trip, work or a project to live abroad.

How would you describe your teaching studio?

I have an office at home dedicated to teaching. It’s quiet and enjoyable. I made sure to have a great internet connection, a comfortable chair and desk, and good lighting. I also add some French themed decor for my students to enjoy.

If you could gift your students one piece of automatic knowledge or ability about French, what would it be?

The knowledge of what pieces make a language. It helps to understand how your own language is built and it helps understanding the one you’re learning.

What’s one lasting takeaway you hope your students will carry with them from your teaching, even years from now?

I hope they will not be scared to try. Making mistakes or not being able to say things the way you would in your own language should not prevent you from trying. Learning goes through this process. It’s normal, there’s nothing to be ashamed of.

What are some of your most indispensable pieces of gear?

The most indispensable gear would be the computer and a good connection.

Are there apps / texts / other resources you often recommend?

Some useful resources are Netflix to watch French shows with subtitles, Duolingo to practice every day and French podcasts with the transcription.

Anything new that came out this past year or you are anticipating in 2026?

I’m excited to see how the immediate translation through smart phones will work and how it can help to learn the language.

Anything you'd like to share about yours or their accomplishments from 2025?

I love to see my students preparing for a trip and coming back excited about the confidence they got and the experience they had.

I also love non French native parents being able to speak French with their children. Some with the goal of raising bilingual children. Some with the goal to speak the language of their partners and in-laws.

Do you have guidance for goal-setting for French students, or generally?

I would suggest starting with small goals. It’s like climbing a mountain, it’s always easier to divide it into smaller steps. No matter the goal, every day practice, even a little, is the key.

Is there anything else you would like to share with potential French students?

I’m also a language learner. I’ve been there and I’m still learning. I hear you and I understand the process. Learning a language does not come naturally just by listening. It  takes practice but it’s extremely rewarding.
